American actress Angelina grew up in Los Angeles together with her brother James Haven who is also actor. Her father is actor/oscar-winner Jon Voight and her mother is actress Marcheline Bertrand who studied acting under the legendary Lee Strasberg. She's of German and Slovak descent from her father's side and French-Canadian, Dutch and German descent from her mother's side. Her mother died from ovarian cancer in Los Angeles on january 27, 2007 after a battle of 7,5 year. She is the niece of singer-songwriter Chip Taylor and her godparents are actors Jacqueline Bisset and Maximilian Schell.


She was named after costume designer Angela Alexander who designs costumes for the film The All-American Boy (1973), where her father Jon Voight starred in. They name her Angelina a year after her parents' divorce, her originally name is Angelica. Her original Greek name was "Angeliki", which in Greek means "Angelic Messenger of God".


She had an friendly relation with actress Jenny Shimizu from 1994 until 2000. She married theatre actor Jonny Lee Miller on 28th march, 1996 and their marriage lasts until the moment they divorce on 3rd february, 1999. She went to the William O. Schaefer elementary School in New York and graduated at the El Rodeo elementary school in Beverly Hills in 1989. She studied on the same school as Michael Klesic, Bahar Soomekh and Lenny Kravitz at the Beverly Hills High School where she graduated at her sixteen. She studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, where she was seen in several stage productions when she was eleven. She was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva on august 27, 2001 after her visits to Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Pakistan. She visits Tham Hin refugee camp in Thailand to check on conditions of 9,000 refugees from the border area of Myanmar in may 2002, in her role as goodwill ambassador. She was the first recipient of the Citizen of the World Award from the UN Correspondents' Association for her work as a goodwill ambassador with the UNHCR in 2003. She was made official citizen of Cambodia by the King for her ongoing efforts to help the environment there in august 2005. Was cover girl for the much anticipated june 2006 issue of Forbes magazine and appeared in the infamous Celebrity 100 list. She donated many items to Rocky Stone in order to be given to less fortunate kids as part of the Toy Mountain Campaign. She visits more then 20 countries in her role as Goodwill Ambassador.

She made her action movie debut in the lead role as almost-human cyborg Casella 'Cash' Reese who is specifically designed by the PinWheel corporation,in order to sneak in a rival manufacturer's headquarters with the plan to detonate herself in the year 2074 in ''Cyborg 2: Glass Shadow'' (1993). Human martial arts instructor Colton Ricks (played by Elias Koteas) gets feelings for her. They both want to escape out the PinWheel Corp. facility with help of Mercy (played by Jack Palance). She plays tomb raider Lara Croft again who made perhaps the most important archaeological discovery in history: an orb that leads to the mythical Pandora's Box in ''Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life'' (2003). Unfortunately, the orb falls into hands of Jonathan Reiss (played by Ciarán Hinds), an evil scientist who deals in killer viruses. He wants to sell the secrets of the box as the ultimate weapon to the highest bidder. The British Intelligence gives her the assignment to recruit Terry Sheridan (played by Gerard Butler), a British marine turned mercenary who is also her former lover. They both embark on an adventure that spans continents, in an attempt to regain the orb back from Jonathan Reiss.


She plays Franky next to Gwyneth Paltrow, Bai Ling and Jude Law in this story where intrepid reporter Polly Perkins (played by Gwyneth Paltrow) from New York City a connection makes between the story which she writes about a famous scientists who suddenly disappears around the world, and a recent attack on the city by giant robots in 1939 in ''Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow'' (2004). She seeks help of her ex-boyfriend Sky Captain (played by Jude Law) who the captain of a pilots mercenary legion is in order to find the solution of these happenings. The two are investigating the case when the robots attack the city again and Sky Captain's right hand man is able to locate the source. They go on an adventure in search of the evil mastermind behind these schemes, who creates a utopia in order to destroy the current world.


She plays Olympias in this story about Alexander the Great (played by Jessie Kamm) who led his armies against the mighty Persian Empire, drove west to Egypt, made his way finally east to India and conquers 90% of the known world when he was twentyfive in ''Alexander'' (2004). He led his armies through 22,000 miles of sieges and conquests in just eight years. This film will concentrate on those eight years of battles, as well as his relationship with his boyhood friend and battle mate Hephaestion (played by Patrick Carroll).
